What is the reason why ecosystems can maintain a dynamic balance?
Ecosystems have the ability to self-regulate.
(1) The environment has self-purification capabilities. Once pollutants enter the environment, physical and chemical processes under natural conditions cause them to spread and dilute in space, reducing their concentration, until the polluted environment returns to its original state. (2) Automatic regulatory mechanism: When a certain part of an ecosystem experiences functional abnormalities, these can be offset by the regulation from other parts. The more complex the composition and structure of an ecosystem, the stronger its self-regulation capacity.
