I want to use the structure of a gas-lubricated bearing to allow the gas to be discharged to both ends of the shaft separately. rather than using gas for lubrication. As for pressure, gas-lubricated bearings typically operate at several kilograms of pressure; I only want to use a pressure of a few hundred pascals or even just dozens of pascals. Is it possible to achieve this? Could the incoming gas be exhausted at both ends of the shaft, rather than at just one end?
I remember that the rotor of the expander in air separation units is supported by air cushion bearings. You can search for it.
The expanders here use sliding bearings, and their assembly requires great skill
