According to section 5.2.22, the layout of the storage tanks (groups) in a facility shall comply with the following requirements: 1. When the total volume of the storage tanks in the facility is such that the volume of liquefied hydrocarbon tanks is less than or equal to 100 m3, and the volume of tanks for flammable gases or liquids is less than or equal to 1000 m3, these tanks may be located within the facility; however, the fire separation distance between these storage tanks and various equipment and buildings must be no less than the values specified in Table 5.2.1. The question is: 1. The original facility is not classified as Category A (a non-explosion-proof area). If this condition is met, and the volume of the tanks for storing Category A flammable liquids is less than 1000 m3, then such tanks can be located within the facility. In that case, does the entire facility have to be classified as a Category A area? ? 2. According to fire safety regulations, Class A storage tanks cannot be placed inside factory buildings; therefore, does this equipment area not constitute a factory building? ? How can we explain the existence of a factory building in the plant area then? What is the difference between the plant area mentioned here and the factory building? ?
If there are Class A substances in the plant area, it can be classified as a Class A plant; the plant area includes the plant framework, buildings, and storage tanks for the equipment. The factory building should be part of the plant area.

Petrochemical plants should all be classified as Category A or Category B production areas. If it isn’t a Category A production plant, how can there be Category A storage tanks? In petrochemical plants, aside from the compressor rooms and pump rooms, the production units are mostly located outdoors.
The petrochemical regulations are most applicable to large-scale chemical and petrochemical projects; generally, the storage tank areas of such facilities are located outdoors. The concept of the facility includes intermediate tank areas, plant buildings, open-air equipment areas, etc

The plant area may include some factory buildings, may not contain any factory buildings at all, or may consist entirely of factory buildings
Please first take a look at the definition of the plant tank area; it has capacity limits for storage tanks. In a way, you’re being stubbornly fixated on one thing. Generally, for storage tanks with a volume of over 50 cubic meters, their height makes it uneconomical to place them inside a factory building; no factory building has a single-story ceiling height of more than 10 meters
