I need a special fan; with so many different types available, I really don’t know where to start when making a choice, which is why I’m coming here for advice. The working conditions are as follows: 1. Medium: Alkaline chemical gas, basically inert; 304 material is sufficient for the fan’s flow-through components. 2. Medium pressure: Vacuum, gauge pressure of -0.8 kg; equal pressure at the inlet and outlet (for forced circulation from top to bottom within the same container). 3. Medium temperature: 110 degrees Celsius; the equipment should be able to withstand this temperature, preferably with self-cooling capabilities without the need for water cooling, as cooling of the medium is not desired. 4. Air volume: 3 cubic meters per minute at a pressure of 1 kg. 5. Other requirements: No leaks, explosion-proof design, flanged connections (DN40–DN150; sizes larger than this are not suitable)
I’m not entirely sure about your parameters – you mentioned the flow rate at 1 kilogram, but what is the actual resistance in your system? For fans of different types, pressure changes and flow rate changes can be quite significant. The requirements for temperature and material are not high.
It’s actually just a fan; nothing special about it. To select a fan, providing the following parameters is usually sufficient for the fan manufacturer: operating pressure: -0.8 kg; operating temperature: 110°C; flow rate under operating conditions: the flow rate adjusted to correspond to the operating pressure and temperature. Static pressure rise: it is necessary to calculate all types of resistance (pipes + equipment + margin) based on the operating conditions. Material: 304 grade. Type: axial fans or centrifugal fans can be considered, depending on the flow rate and required pressure rise. There are many other requirements as well, but they will not be listed in detail here.
