For gas pipelines of DN900 that currently require support beneath the upward elbow, which standard should be followed for the design of such supports? (In the standard drawings for pipe racks per HG/T21629-1999, in the table of parameters for the supports placed under elbows, the maximum pipe diameter is DN600; there are no values specified for DN900.)
It would be troublesome if there isn’t one; it’s necessary to discuss this with the structural engineers. The pipe rack design specified in HG/T21629 is quite good, as it includes a specified range for allowable thrust forces, which have been calculated. As long as the usage stays within that range, there’s no need to worry. In the case of large pipes like DN900, it’s likely necessary to inform the structural engineers about the stress conditions involved, so that they can carry out the design accordingly~
It is recommended to provide the load conditions to the structural engineering team so that they can carry out the design! Sometimes, for some relatively tall pipe racks and supports, requirements are set for the structural team to carry out the calculations. :)
600 is enough; why 900? How tall is it? The size of the forces acting on the legs is generally calculated and determined by specialists in stress analysis. The installation specialty only puts forward one condition.
