The insulation materials used in thermal equipment and pipelines should not have any chemical corrosive effect on metal surfaces. It is generally required that insulation materials be neutral or have a pH value of 7-8 or higher; they must not contain soluble chlorides, and the content of sulfur oxides shall not exceed 0.06%.
