For sampling in our device, there is a small gate valve, with a needle valve positioned behind it. But oil leakage from needle valves occurs frequently in practice; please tell us what type of valves are used in your installations so we can discuss it together
Those on the oil lines are of the type with a crank and a push-in design; sampling is possible without the need for replacement, and they are less prone to clogging.
It depends on the type of medium: for light oil here, we use a gate valve followed by a ball valve; in older systems for heavy oil, there are two gate valves, while in newer systems for heavy oil, a gate valve is used along with a hand-cranked device.
Small gate valve + needle valve! ! ! ! !
For closed sampling devices, those used for gas samples are quite good, while those designed for liquid samples don’t seem to be very reliable; however, they still help to reduce the amount of samples that need to be taken outside the site.
It is still more convenient to use gate valves + needle valves on-site; manual types are also acceptable
Pin valves are prone to leakage; we have now purchased ball valves
Don’t make the sampling valve too complicated; a basic configuration with dual-valve control is sufficient – a ball valve on the outside and a gate valve on the inside works well
The sampling valves used in our equipment are as follows: For high-temperature heavy oil, a manual sampler is employed; For the second light oil, a gate valve is used at the front, while a sampling ball valve is used at the back ; For the third gas phase sampling, a sealed sampler is used (such as for acidic gases, liquefied gases, etc.)
