I’ve been thinking about this issue these past two days. Now that I’ve organized my thoughts, I’d like to ask everyone for their advice. There is a gas storage tank in front of the equipment, and this tank is connected to the main gas pipeline. The equipment itself comes equipped with a gas treatment unit. There are several questions: First, is it necessary to add another two-piece fitting (filter and pressure regulator) in front of the gas storage tank? Is it such that if the pressure in the main gas pipeline is higher than the rated pressure of the gas tank, a pressure regulator is installed; and if it is equal to the rated pressure of the gas tank, no pressure regulator is needed? II. Should the inlet and outlet ports of the air storage tank have the same diameter?

The inlet of the air storage tank should have a check valve to maintain the pressure inside the tank in case the air supply ahead is interrupted. II. The inlet and outlet ports of the gas storage tank both belong to the same pressure system, and their pipe diameters are usually the same.
Thank you for your answer, but I’m still a bit confused. If the main pipeline pressure is 1.0 and the operating pressure of the equipment is 0.6, should I choose the air tank based on 1.0? There is a problem now: since our air storage tank comes as an accessory with the equipment, shouldn’t we be responsible for providing it? After all, the pressure in the main air supply lines at different sites may vary, and unless we design the air storage tanks to handle the highest possible pressure, it won’t be possible to ensure that they can be used at all sites. Also, what are the disadvantages of adding a pressure regulator in front of the air storage tank? Thank you
After checking, when the gas supply pressure is higher than the maximum operating pressure of the gas tank, a pressure reducing valve can be installed in front of the tank; however, a safety valve and a pressure gauge must be installed on the gas tank itself
