I would like to ask: I obtained my certificate for the title of intermediate engineer in Taiyuan in 2013. The documents submitted at that time were my original graduation certificate and degree certificate, both related to the environmental engineering field; Four work performance reports, one per year, all of which contain information related to the design and verification of water supply and drainage projects ; **Papers published in peer-reviewed journals also address topics related to water supply and drainage design ; Original copy of the assistant engineer certificate, also in the field of electrical engineering ; Then there are the relevant computer exam scores and foreign language exam scores for professional titles. The professional title on the intermediate certificate remains Electrical Engineering. My current employer requires an intermediate qualification certificate for a water supply and drainage engineer, so I would like to change the professional title on my engineer certificate to Water Supply and Drainage Engineering. I would like to ask, what exactly should I do in a situation like mine?
You should go to the personnel department to apply for a change of major; an evaluation form is required
I’m currently in Guangzhou. Should I go to the personnel bureau in Taiyuan to change my major, or can it be done at the personnel bureau here in Guangzhou?
This is called a re-evaluation; you need proof of having worked in water supply and drainage for more than two years. For the other requirements, a re-evaluation is necessary following the same standards as those for electrical engineering projects. Both papers and work experience related to water supply and drainage are required – it’s not enough to just submit a new application as you might think; it’s possible that you won’t pass this re-evaluation
It seems that so far, no one knows how to deal with this situation. I had no choice but to keep waiting for the best answer. :P
There are several issues with your certificate. Since it’s a certificate from Taiyuan and you want to use it in Guangzhou, first of all, it’s not clear whether Guangzhou will recognize certificates from Taiyuan. If it does, you’ll need to go to Guangzhou to have your original specialty, which is Environmental Engineering, re-evaluated. After that, you’ll have to work for two more years before you can apply for a re-evaluation in the field of Water Supply and Drainage Engineering, and you’ll also need relevant work experience and research papers
Why is it water supply and drainage one moment, and electricity the next? It seems like these two majors are quite different from each other
