Hydrogenation is pretty troublesome, right? Is amine removal done using an amine solution? Alkali deprotonation is the most commonly used method nowadays. I heard of a type of sulfonated cobalt phthalocyanine; I’m not sure what its effects are
As for light petroleum products, they mainly include dry gas, liquefied gas, gasoline, and diesel. Dry gas is treated by amine solution to remove hydrogen sulfide; liquefied gas is first subjected to hydrogen sulfide removal followed by desulfurization using alkaline solutions. Gasoline is typically processed through hydrogenation or S-zorb, while diesel is treated via hydrogenation. These are all post-hydrogenation treatment technologies. Another method is pre-hydrogenation, with the main processes being hydrocracking and hydrotreating of residue oil, in order to reduce the sulfur content of the feedstock.
