What are electromagnetic compatibility standards?
Electromagnetic compatibility refers to the ability of electrical and electronic devices to function properly in a specified electromagnetic environment, without causing excessive electromagnetic interference to other devices in that environment. The standards that specify the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility are known as electromagnetic compatibility standards.
Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) refers to the ability of a device or system to operate satisfactorily within its electromagnetic environment without causing unacceptable electromagnetic interference to any devices in that environment. Therefore, EMC encompasses two sets of requirements: one is that the electromagnetic interference generated by the equipment during normal operation must not exceed certain limits in the surrounding environment ； On the other hand, it refers to the degree to which a device can resist electromagnetic interference present in its environment, that is, its electromagnetic sensitivity. In simple terms, as explained by Baidu, it refers to the tolerance of a device/instrument to electromagnetic fields; your device shouldn’t start acting erratically just because some motor is operating nearby.
