What are the components of a SIS safety instrument system?
It consists of three parts: field instruments, logic solvers, and actuators.
A safety control system refers to a protection system composed of instruments and control devices, which mainly includes three components: field detection instruments, logic control units, and field actuation devices. Among these, the logic control unit is the core of the entire control system. In the design of safety control systems, four safety integrity levels are defined in order to quantitatively analyze the safety of various production facilities; these levels are denoted as SIL, with SIL4 being the highest level. The internationally recognized standards currently in use include IEC61508 from the United States, among others; authoritative certification bodies include TUV from Germany, among others. SIS is short for Safety Instrumented System; in Chinese it refers to a safety instrument system. This term is derived from the definition of safety control systems given by the Institute of Automation (ISA) in the United States. The Safety Instrumented System (SIS) is also known as the Emergency Shutdown System (ESD), Safety Interlock System, or Instrument Protection System.
Similar to DCS, it is more reliable in terms of loop and processor configuration.
