For a 300,000-ton styrene plant operated by a private enterprise, the investment for the main plant and storage areas, as well as intermediate storage areas, is definitely within the range of 400–500 million yuan at present. If ethylene is to be purchased externally using the ethylene production method, then an investment of around 70 million yuan is required for building ethylene cryogenic tanks; additional 500 million yuan is needed for the supporting utility systems (excluding boilers). Taking into account construction costs, land costs, initial investments, technology transfer fees, and engineering design costs, the total investment for the plant site is definitely within the range of 600–700 million yuan (this figure does not include the cost of boilers if steam is available elsewhere).
