I’m seeking help from fellow sailors. Our facility has newly installed 2 steam-driven pump feed pumps, with a steam pressure of 0.4 MPa. The rated steam inlet at full load is 15.3 T of steam. As the pressure fluctuated between 0.37 and 0.41, the two steam-driven pump feed pumps first varied their rotation speed from 3000 to 2600 revolutions; after about 2 minutes, their speed fluctuated again between 2800 and 2400 revolutions. Three minutes later, their speed decreased to 600 revolutions and remained at that level. Subsequently, by entering a value of 3000 through the 505 regulator located in the on-site cabinet room, the rotation speed returned to 3000 revolutions once more. I would like to ask whether there is any internal programming for the 505 controller to identify issues; currently, the speed control system is unstable, and I need to set the device’s speed to a safe level of 600 revolutions per minute. There are many manuals for 505 available online; you can download them and take a look. The 505 needs to be programmed and configured differently depending on the application, so what works for others may not suit you.
In other words, when the speed control unit 505 can no longer regulate the speed, it will cause the steam-driven pump to return to a safe speed
Logically speaking: if you set the rotation speed to 3000 revolutions, when there isn’t enough steam, the oil actuator should increase its opening degree; yet when the rotation speed drops, the travel distance of the oil actuator doesn’t reach its maximum. The automatic reduction to 600 revolutions might be due to a malfunction in the 505 component
