I want to know how many metering pumps are required in total for all the systems in a power plant with 2*660MW units, as well as what the flow rates and pressures are. The more specific, the better. For metering pumps, if you’re referring to those used for chemical dosing, there is 1 set for boiler dosing, 2 sets for deaerator dosing, approximately 4 sets for desalinated water dosing, and about 5 sets for cooling tower dosing. Assuming one set is used while another serves as a backup, there are at least 12 sets in total. However, the prices vary; for example, high pressure requirements for phosphate dosing in boilers mean that double-diaphragm pumps are used in such cases

There are two types of dosing in the circulating water system: first, acid addition to the circulating water, for which there are three metering pumps – two in operation and one as a spare; second, the addition of stabilizers to the circulating water system, also using three metering pumps, with two in operation and one as a spare. Of course, for each of these two sets of metering pumps used for dosing in the circulating water system, it is also possible to use two pumps with one as a spare. As for the chemical dosing system for the water supply system, which includes the addition of hydrazine and ammonia, a unit-based approach is adopted, with each unit being considered separately. For the dosing system of each unit, it is possible to use either one or three metering pumps – two in operation and one as a backup, or alternatively two pumps with one serving as a backup. For drum boilers, there must be a system for adding chemicals to the drum, using trisodium phosphate; this is also a unit-based system, with two units installed per power plant, one of which serves as a backup. In addition, there is chemical dosing for the desalinated water system; two sets are installed, with two units in each set, one in use and one as a backup.
