Among these memories, there are moments of joy, sadness, regret, frustration, and sweetness. But there are always a few things that stay etched in our memory. I remember when I was in school, it wasn’t like now when most people wear brand-name clothes; back then, wearing a suit to formal occasions was something unusual. To appear more presentable, people would borrow clothes. Fortunately, the alumni in our dormitory had similar body types, so we could borrow from each other. Once, an alumnus from our dormitory had his brother come to visit him; his brother brought him a suit. You can imagine how envious everyone was, thinking how great it would be to have such a suit. Fortunately, our alumnus was a generous person who understood what everyone was thinking, and he immediately said that anyone among us who attended formal events could wear that suit. We were all shocked by this sudden announcement; it took us some time to recover, after which we started cheering and hugging each other. We are all very touched by this. It was this suit that forged our deep friendship; even after so many years, we still talk about it every time we get together. Whenever the topic of suits and things related to them comes up, they talk non-stop, with happy smiles on their faces, as if they have returned to that era. Brothers gathered together, wearing suits. Separated by distance, yet friendship remains in our hearts
I remember when I first started college, my mom bought me a suit made from fabric she had purchased; I didn’t like wearing it, but there was nothing I could do – it was after all her good intentions! When I got to school, I was wearing casual clothes, so I didn’t wear them very often. In the second year, I decided not to bring it along. Sometimes, when I really wanted something, my parents wouldn’t give it to me. By the time they gave it to me later, I no longer had that desire or need, and I felt it was pointless.
