Lye solutions with a concentration of 25–32% are temporarily stored in concrete tanks. These tanks were originally used for dissolving lime; is it feasible to store lye in them directly? Can concrete withstand corrosion caused by lye?
No, concrete cannot withstand caustic soda corrosion.

Pools made of concrete are acceptable, but impurities can get into them. It’s not expensive to create a storage tank made of carbon steel; I don’t understand why one would use concrete.
