Regarding issues related to geological surveys

A new chemical plant has been recently installed, with its site located on the area left after the demolition of the old facility. During geological surveys, it was found that some of the foundations for the new plant were built on top of the large foundations of the old plant. Since those original foundations were 1.5 meters thick, it was not possible to conduct drilling there; moreover, destroying them would be too costly and unnecessary. I wonder if anyone has encountered a similar situation – what would be the appropriate way to handle it?
If the foundation of the underground works for the new facility is not affected, it can remain unforged; but if it is affected, it must be dug, no matter how difficult it is.
The existing foundation can be reused; it’s best to calculate the load first. If there are no issues, it can be used, but if the strength is insufficient, additional pile foundations can be added nearby.
It does not affect the basic excavation. The key issue at present is how to prepare the report based on the exploration results; the geological survey agency has indicated that exploration is necessary before a report can be issued
A safer approach is to demolish the old foundation, of course depending on what new installation you plan to put in place.
