Article 2: The Materials Museum. There is a path leading to the Materials Museum, which we call Lovers’ Slope. The materials museum is also affectionately called the Little Potala Palace by us. Overall, it looks very similar and has a long history. Similarly, the tables, chairs, and facilities inside are quite old. During my junior and senior years, I spent almost all of that time in the materials library, whether it was for professional courses or experiments; I would go there regularly, whether I needed to or not. Article Three: Experiments. Many experiments were conducted over four years. The most common one is the tensile test. Each time, there are seven or eight people in a group, with one tensile testing machine per group. It seems that one person is enough to operate a set. The others are just there to make noise. Then one person writes a report for everyone to refer to. The experiment came to a successful conclusion. Article 4: Specializations. There are three specializations to choose from: Material Forming, Metal Materials, Non-Destructive Testing, and Material Physics. I chose a metal material at that time. It turned out that this major covers everything. Ceramic materials, composite materials, polymer materials, non-destructive testing. . It’s a pity I didn’t become a versatile talent. Chapter 5: Grinding Samples. The most painful task for material scientists is grinding samples. I remember during my senior year’s graduation project, almost every materials science student had to grind test samples. My graduation project was on surface modification. Simply put, it is about determining what material can be added to the surface of the sample in order to improve its overall performance. I went to grind the sample together with my senior at that time. In one morning, he sharpened two, while I hadn’t finished sharpening mine yet, and it was also sharpened incorrectly. After that, my senior never contacted me again. . . Article 6: The Combined Faculty of Mechanics and Energy, also known as the Mechanics, Materials, and Energy Faculty. To the point that when looking for a job later on, they also claimed to be a mechanical engineering student. . Article Seven: Graduation. In the year of graduation, the materials library was renovated, and all the tables and chairs were replaced. Previously, several people shared one microscope. They were also replaced with new ones later on. I went back to school some time ago. I can’t help but realize that I’m really getting old. . . Still, I feel proud to be a materials scientist~~
