1. As the title suggests, what is the situation of the Process Engineering Department at the Xinjiang Design Branch of China National Petroleum Engineering Corporation (Urumqi Petrochemical Plant Design Institute)? 2. Regarding staffing issues, in most of CNPC’s design departments, employees are hired through labor dispatch, market-based employment arrangements, or contract-based employment. I’m not sure how the staffing situation at Wushihua Petrochemical Design Institute is arranged; what are the chances of switching to a contract-based employment model, and how much time will it take? What are the specific differences in benefits for different types of employment? ; 3. What are the benefits like in the production department? For newcomers/those with 5 years of experience/those with 10 years of experience... ; 4. What is the workflow in the process laboratory? Is it similar to a system where graduate supervisors guide trainees, or can individuals work on projects as they become available? What is the level of overtime required in this laboratory? Are there many people who work overtime on regular weekends and holidays? Thank you in advance for the responses from the forum members.
Your question is quite detailed; I guess it’s best to ask the HR department. I’ll wait for an answer downstairs.
I asked the HR department; after all, they are not front-line designers, so their responses were rather general and superficial, and they viewed the issue from a different perspective. I hope someone who is better informed can answer this question!
Hello, thank you for marking this post as the top one; thanks a lot. I happened to see that you had previously inquired about the Beijing branch of CNPC Design Institute. How did that inquiry go, and did you end up going there?
I don’t know what your personal situation is like at the moment, but in general I would suggest that you go. There is not much difference between labor dispatch and contracting; one can only switch to a contractual arrangement once they reach the position of deputy department head. There’s no need to go into detail about the other issues; they are all details, and I’m not very clear about them either.
Thank you very much for the valuable answer! I have been keeping an eye on this company recently. Judging from various aspects such as capabilities, benefits, and management, Wushihua Design Institute is among the best in Xinjiang. I guess that’s why you suggested I go too.
1. Currently, CPECC recruits employees mainly through market-based hiring practices; it is rare for employees hired through market mechanisms to be converted to contract-based positions. In terms of benefits, market-based employees and those on contract have the same treatment now. The difference is that one has a permanent position and job security, while the other may be laid off if performance is poor. 2. You definitely won’t be treated poorly in terms of compensation; don’t worry. But this is tied to the overall situation in the industry; currently, the entire chemical industry is in a poor state.
Thank you for this reply from the fellow sea traveler. As you said, we certainly won’t shortchange them in terms of compensation; they will be paid according to the amount of work they do. Different types of employment may result in slight differences regarding the five social insurances and one housing fund; everything else should be the same. What is CPECC’s strength in Xinjiang?
