Replacement of distillation column trays

Have you ever replaced the trays in the distillation columns of your units? What are the criteria for such replacements? Is it by measuring the thickness, and replacing them when it becomes too thin?
Generally, the parts at the top of the tower that are severely corroded are replaced; based on experience, those that are severely deformed also need to be replaced.

In the past, replacements were necessary due to deformation caused by impact on the tower or corrosion by acidic substances at the top of the tower.
