I’m encountering a rather strange issue with my electric defogger. After it operates for a while, the secondary current becomes low; no matter how much I increase the setting, the current doesn’t rise. The secondary voltage is normal at first, but after reaching a certain level, it starts to increase automatically without any need to adjust the settings, until eventually overvoltage triggers a shutdown. I’m hoping that the experts here can help explain this phenomenon. Thank you!
It may be due to poor contact somewhere or increased resistance caused by component aging, leading to an increase in voltage
It is possible that after long use, sublimated sulfur or impurities accumulate on the electrodes and electrode wires, causing the resistance to increase; this in turn leads to an increase in the secondary voltage, and even overvoltage. It is recommended to check for the presence of sublimated sulfur, the dust removal efficiency of electrostatic precipitators, and the impurity removal effectiveness of power wave washers.
There may be an excessive amount of mineral dust adsorbed on the pole, or a small amount of sublimated sulfur attached to it
