Are there any of you who work in ethanol plants? The instruments used in the fermentation, distillation, and finished product storage areas of ethanol plants all need to be of that explosion-proof rating, right?
The explosion protection rating of your instrument is determined based on the explosion protection requirements of the area where it will be used. Additionally, in the case of renovation projects, the explosion protection rating of the previous instrument can be used as a reference.
Is the cost of Intrinsic Safety too high?
Look at the explosion zone classification diagrams for electrical engineering, or consult the tables for the classification of explosive mixtures; simply use the highest grade specified
An explosion protection rating of ExdIIBT4 will suffice; for the instrument’s protection rating, IP65 is appropriate
