My mixer unit only has a temperature interlock. Stop if over 45. Rises by 5 parking spaces per second
Parking is fine; the main issue lies in the chain setup and the chain of emergency responses
At the beginning, the interlock system in our company’s vinyl chloride production facility consisted of just one element; later on, interlocks were added regarding the liquid level in the gas tanks and the inlet pressure of the compressors
It is reasonable to set at least two levels: the mixer outlet temperature should have three alarm levels – normal, high, and very high – and in the event of an accident, the acetylene pneumatic valve should be shut off along with alarms being triggered for the addition of salt and acid； The other approach is to send an alarm directly to the acetylene delivery unit once the set height is exceeded; this triggers an immediate shutdown of the power supply to the acetylene-related equipment, thereby stopping its operation and preventing pressure buildup in the system. There is also a interlock mechanism related to the set height of the acetylene tank – if it exceeds this limit, the tank automatically vents its contents.
For temperature alarms, the system stops operation when the temperature exceeds 50 degrees, and it stops as well if the temperature rises by more than 8 degrees per minute.
