What are wetting fillers and wetting devices? What is his role?
Wetting fillers are also known as wetting devices. The wetting filler is an important component of cooling towers and a key part of cooling systems. Water cooling takes place primarily in this section; its function is to keep the water sprayed by the water distribution system in contact with the surface or to form a water film, thereby increasing the contact area and time between water vapor and the surface, and enhancing the effects of evaporation and conduction for heat dissipation, which helps to reduce the water temperature rapidly. The filler is required to have a large effective area, good hydrophilicity, low air resistance, and light weight. In terms of type, there are drip type, film type, and drip-film type.
A water spraying device refers to the packing in a circulating water cooling structure. Its function is to maximize the contact surface area between the hot water entering the tower and the air, thereby prolonging the residence time of the water in the tower and enhancing the heat and moisture exchange between water and air. Therefore, it is a key part of the cooling structure. General requirements for watering devices: ① Large specific surface area ; ②Low air resistance ; ③Good hydrophilicity ; ④The water flow travels a long distance within the packing ; ⑤Lightweight, sturdy, with minimal deformation ; ⑥Good chemical stability ; ⑦It is easy to obtain materials and has a low cost. Based on the shape that water takes within it, watering devices are divided into three types: drip type, film type, and drip-film type. Materials for fillers often include wooden slats, paper honeycombs, asbestos-cement boards, plastic sheets, and wire-cement mesh panels.
