State-owned enterprises embark on a wave of major mergers

From the merger of CNR and CSR, to the merger of CNNC and CGN, and then to the rumors of a merger between China Southern Airlines and Air China, domestic state-owned enterprises are all experiencing a wave of major mergers. One advantage is that it avoids chaotic competition among domestic companies in foreign-related projects, reduces **losses**, and at the same time enhances their bargaining power. It doesn’t seem to bring any benefits either for us ordinary people living in the country, right? Is this major merger also an inevitable outcome of the development of the world economy? Railways are a legacy issue from the past; other sectors have long since separated government functions from corporate operations, but railways have failed to make such progress until now, when changes have finally been made.
The advantage is that another wave of monopolistic companies is coming; after having to deal with issues such as inability to move around and lack of connectivity, we will now have to deal with the most powerful Railway Ministry, and the most powerful whatever else. Our consumption level is about to rise to an elite level, leading the world. In the future, when there’s a chance to go out as a grandson, there will be no need to rush to go.
