What is the difference between inverters and thyristor modules? I worked on a project involving an electric heater control cabinet provided by a supplier; it can be considered a resistive load, and thyristors were used to control the electric heater
Currently, electric heaters are generally controlled using thyristor voltage regulation to adjust their power and thus achieve the temperature requirements of a particular process. Some systems use contactors to switch the heaters on and off in groups; this approach is cheaper and suitable for applications where precise control is not necessary.
If the distance from the power cable leading to the thyristor to the electric heater is, for example, over 50 meters, is there something similar to the output reactor of an inverter?
Thyristor devices include frequency converters and rectifiers, which are devices that generate electrical power to control the operation of electrical equipment. All the power components used in rectification, inversion, and frequency conversion processes are thyristors. The thyristor controller mentioned by the original poster is a relatively simple control device that is inexpensive. The control units of rectifier devices and frequency converter devices, as commonly referred to, have relatively complex control mechanisms, high precision, and are also more expensive.
