What are the main sources of chemical pollution?

The types of chemical pollutants can be classified, based on their properties, as pollutants from inorganic chemical industries and those from organic chemical industries； Based on the form of pollutants, they can be classified into exhaust gas, wastewater, and waste residue. Generally speaking, chemical pollutants are generated during the production process, but the reasons for their formation and the pathways through which they enter the environment are diverse. Specifically including: (1) waste resulting from incomplete chemical reactions ； (2) Waste generated by side reactions ； (3) Exhaust gases generated during the combustion process ； (4) Cooling water ； (5) Leaks in equipment and pipelines ； (6) Other wastes discharged from chemical production, etc.
