I mean, are there any automatically controlled instruments that can detect leaks of heat transfer oil into external high-temperature devices, resulting in the formation of oil mist, vapor, or fumes? For example, detecting SO2? And so on; after all, automated control is much more reliable than human control.
As far as I know, there shouldn’t be any, because the flash points of heat transfer oils are relatively high, and they do not belong to flammable or explosive substances.
I’ve never seen an alarm for external leakage detection. I have only seen alarms related to water or materials leaking into the heat transfer oil.
It shouldn’t be necessary! It is generally above 250°; it starts to smoke at just a slight rise in temperature. It has a high flash point and does not catch fire. However, if there are leaks, they should be sealed up promptly
