What to do if a vacuum pump stops working due to scaling
What vacuum pump? Water ring vacuum pumps can have their pump body opened for cleaning of scale, either through pickling or baking with an acetylene flame.
Cleaning is done through pickling; it also depends on the operating conditions – soft water can be used, or the water should be changed frequently, as high water temperatures easily lead to scaling.

It can no longer rotate, so it has to be disassembled. All bolt holes are tightened with bolts and tape, then the component is soaked in dilute acid for a while before being cleaned manually. Acetylene flame baking can cause the scale to burst.
It depends on what substance is causing the scaling; some can be removed by steam cleaning. If that doesn’t work, then just remove it
To disassemble it, simply clean it using the corrosion and scale inhibition agents added to the circulating water. The key is to remove the calcium and magnesium ions from the water, or to keep the water temperature low. Small water ring pump tanks have a smaller volume, so the water temperature tends to rise; it is advisable to have an additional tank available for switching use.
First, remove the scale; in the future, water hardness needs to be controlled
