I am currently working in a coal chemical industry in Xinjiang, with a salary of around 3,500. However, I feel that this place is too remote and doesn’t offer much future potential, so I want to go to the south. Although I know the economic pressures there are high, I still want to earn more money. I finally managed to find a large company in Guangzhou called Xinghu Technology – I’m sure many of you know it. The salary there is also around 3,500. Moreover, my educational level is too low, so I don’t really qualify for such a position. I’m very conflicted: I want to go there but am afraid I won’t achieve anything. I’m also getting older, and if I don’t go, I’ll regret it. That’s why I’m sharing my experiences with you all and discussing what Guangzhou is like. I really need honest answers; I’m also curious about the truth regarding Xinghu Technology as a company

Coastal areas offer more opportunities; in some companies, educational background is merely a reference – real skills are what matter, so education isn’t a problem. I feel that Xinjiang Coal Chemical is a large-scale area, and it will also become a major coal chemical industrial park in the future!
It really depends on one’s own decision, but I think it’s good to go out; at least it will broaden one’s horizons, and there are more opportunities in the south as well.
As for cities, Guangzhou is obviously the best choice, but the place you want to go is surely not in the city, and how much time do you have to go there? I think we should still focus on where we can improve our own abilities.

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen. . . . These prices~ housing costs~~~ you know what I mean! Also, be mindful of the local people’s xenophobia!
Don’t go; Xinjiang will become a base for coal chemical industry in the future. With 3,500 yuan per month, there will still be some left over, but in Guangzhou 3,500 yuan per month isn’t enough to cover expenses. Besides, as you said, you’re getting older, so there’s no need to go – you’ll regret it. If the salary doubles, then you might want to consider it.
It’s 3,500 yuan per month in Guangzhou; this is probably just the starting amount, and it should double after working there for over a year. However, it depends on how you see the prospects after changing jobs; a comprehensive consideration is needed.
