However, strength tests cannot be conducted on the entire system as a whole; components such as equipment, instrument elements, and expansion joints need to be removed or isolated during strength testing. The airtightness test involves connecting the entire system together to check for leaks, and it is carried out at the pressure under which the pipelines operate normally. It represents the final inspection and verification before introducing any medium into the system. Generally, the requirements for water, gas, steam, and air pipelines in utility systems are relatively more relaxed.
