The flue gas from this furnace is discharged by the draft from the chimney. An excessively low flue gas temperature can prevent the flue gas from being discharged, leading to shutdown of the furnace; in severe cases, this can result in safety accidents. At the same time, excessively low flue gas temperatures can also cause dew point corrosion of the shell. Given this, requiring an excessively low flue gas temperature is not worth the cost.
