The vortex flow meter used in the plant for nitrogen measurement failed the calibration at the metrology institute. What should I do? Can we only throw it away?:hug::hug::hug:
Old or new? Keep the old one for spare parts, and have the manufacturer replace the new one!

Are the specific test data provided in the test results? If there is only a deviation in the measurement values, it can be corrected by adjusting the meter coefficient of the flowmeter.
I don’t understand why you send the vortex flow meters for inspection – do you use them for shipping calculations? If it’s not the case, then there’s no need to worry about it. But if it’s a situation involving shipments to external parties, your company seems to be taking it too lightly. The measurement accuracy of vortex flowmeters is already quite low; are the operating conditions in your production equipment the same as those during the calibration process? If it’s different, it’s normal for there to be uncertainty. What kind of material is being used? Pure water? Is it still an organic substance? Is it still gas?
It could have been done that way: you ask the manufacturer to take it to the calibration laboratory, where tests may reveal that certain parameters are not up to standard; then you can have the manufacturer make the necessary corrections. If it has already been brought back, then it’s better to discard it – the cost of calibrating a small-diameter vortex flow meter is over a thousand as well
Most people who work in metrology don’t know how to calibrate instruments; they just give you a calibration certificate and that’s it.
