Many existing enterprises no longer meet the requirements of the newly revised standards. During the process of making corrections, many of these enterprises are considering leaving some of their factory buildings unused in order to meet the safety distance requirements related to fire prevention. Is this a viable approach? Is it specified in any guidelines?
I arrived at a chemical manufacturing plant yesterday; the production process does not involve any flammable or explosive substances. However, the safety department requires that all motors and button panels be explosion-proof. There is a green area as well as roads between the boiler room and the workshops, but the distance between them is only a few meters, so it’s necessary to modify the workshops accordingly! Right now, the regulatory authorities don’t understand the situation and simply apply rules mechanically; environmental protection and safety supervision require real experts!
Can leaving part of the factory building unused or using firewalls for separation meet the requirement of insufficient fire separation distances?
There are many enterprises with such long construction timelines; during inspections, it is required that the facilities be left unused. If it’s a factory building belonging to China Unicom, simply leaving it unused without demolishing it won’t solve the problem. **Are there any local regulations regarding this?
