We have a standalone vacuum distillation unit for residue dewaxing, consisting of one initial distillation tower, one furnace, and one vacuum distillation tower. When reducing by 1, diesel is produced; when reducing by 2 or 3, wax oil is obtained. Reducing by 4 sends the material back to the tower as vaporized oil. Both reductions of 1 and 3 involve heat reflux. How can such a setup ensure proper control over the cold filter point and boiling range of the diesel? Also, is the cold filtration point related to the 50% point or to the 95% point? How to adjust according to the sample made? The boiling range of the product I adjusted is 4°C lower than that at the previous sampling point, but the cold filter point remains unchanged. Why is the boiling range higher than it was at the previous point while the cold filter point has decreased? Is this normal? I really lost to cold filtration. The cold filter point is primarily determined by the wax content in diesel, so there is no absolute relationship between it and the boiling range. However, light oils contain less wax, so to lower the cold filter point, it is necessary to use lighter components. As for the changes in the final boiling point of the boiling range and the cold filter point, these are influenced by various factors. Firstly, there is the width of the boiling range; if this width is large, a slight increase in the final boiling point by a few degrees will not cause an increase in the freezing point or cold filter point; Secondly, errors in laboratory analysis are closely related to the conscientiousness of the laboratory technician and their working habits; a normal difference of three to two degrees is not a problem. Data from just two samples lack statistical significance due to the high degree of randomness.
