Is the ABB 800xA Hi safety system effective? I’m asking experts for some guidance; I’ve never used it before
As for whether it’s useful or not, just look at its market share to find out. Few sets of ABB 800xA Hi systems have been used in China; the market is mostly dominated by TRICONEX and HIMA.

In our facility, ESD works as follows: for example, the high-pressure coal slurry pump trips several times (due to DI signals from electrical systems to the instruments, such as information on the pump’s status, as well as DO signals that are used to stop the pump); Due to the insufficient accuracy of the SOE recording times, there was ongoing disagreement between the electrical department and the others involved; the electrical department claimed that the signal indicating shutdown of the instrument came first, while the instrument team said that the signal indicating pump stoppage was reported first. Moreover, the timekeeping on the electrical inverters was even less accurate. In the end, we went through all the settings of the inverters yet were still unable to resolve this issue.
The Tricon safety system has dominated the market; ABB is no longer relevant in this area. Has anyone used Siemens’ 410F? Please share your experiences: L:L:L
SIEMENS’ safety systems are not very effective, which is why they have not been widely adopted; even German companies such as BASF and Bayer are not on the shortlist of qualified options. I recommend using 417FH; it must have the H. The AI card with 24 channels is only considered SIL3 when 12 of those channels are in use. It is recommended to use mainstream brands such as HIMA, TRICON, ICS, Honeywell, etc. – they are reliable and hassle-free, with excellent support as well
