Questions about DCS

A beginner in instrumentation; this facility uses the following DCS system. But I have a question: aren’t DCS and configuration software the same thing? Why is the configuration WinCC? Also, what does the field control subsystem mean, and what is its relationship with DCS? DCS: Configuration software for the upper-level unit of AC800M; operational version: WINCC, which supports OPC SERVER for communication with the DCS and includes report printing functionality. Field control subsystem: Siemens S7-200/300 PLCs
DCS: AC800M. The 800M model comes with ABB’s own host software; however, as per the requirements of the client on site, it is possible to use ABB for the field units and Siemens for the host unit, with data communication between them being achieved through a network and OPC protocol. What does the on-site control subsystem mean, and what is its relationship with DCS? This may be related to the equipment on site, such as the heating furnace used at the start of operation; it has a relatively independent control system. Data can be transmitted between the DCS and the field control system.
Siemens’ configuration is okay, I guess – it depends on where it’s used. It’s less used in the chemical industry, and the system size is probably not large, in my opinion
