Who is responsible for entering the tag number of the heat exchanger equipment?

The company purchased a set of heat exchanger equipment, but the strength calculation document did not include the device identifiers. When I called to ask about this, they said that it was the customer’s responsibility to fill in those details, which I find a bit confusing
It must be filled in by the equipment design unit.
This tag number should be communicated to the manufacturer in advance.

The lack of device tag numbers is likely because you did not inform the design firm; this information needs to be provided to the designers during the design assignment so that they can include it. Otherwise, how would they know how your tag numbers are designated and ordered?
The part number can be proposed by the process department; the manufacturing plant only provides the drawing number.
