Please share the current status of oil level monitoring for the key equipment in your respective plants. Is it necessary to carry out this task? If oil samples are taken, do you purchase the equipment yourself or hire an external company to do it? For a 200,000-ton ethylene plant, vibration monitoring is available for the compressors; however, the management is still considering whether oil level monitoring is also necessary.
Oil analysis can be carried out through sampling, depending on the production conditions. Generally, each company has an analysis and testing laboratory, and under normal circumstances regular sampling for testing is carried out, such as once a month. In special cases, by observing the color change of the oil through the oil return sight glass, if any change is detected, samples can be taken for analysis promptly, and actions can be taken based on the results.
