GB-50187-2012 – Code for Plan Design of Industrial Enterprises, Section 8.1.2: Methods of pipeline installation should be determined through a technical and economic comparison, taking into account factors such as the nature of the media contained within the pipelines, process and material requirements, production safety, transportation, construction and maintenance needs, as well as the conditions of the factory site. These methods must comply with the following regulations: 1. Pipelines carrying flammable, explosive, toxic, or corrosive media should be installed above ground; Some people actually say that it’s possible to bury things underground; petrochemical facilities can be buried underground, so why can’t companies do the same? Petroleum isn’t buried inside companies, is it?
There are instructions after 50187; as for this “should”, it refers to the situation under normal circumstances. However, some pipelines are quite special; for example, the crude oil pipelines that extend across the entire country are usually buried due to the need for long-distance transportation.
It’s buried in the enterprise, or the design institute designed the flammable liquid pipelines to be buried underground. How should it be punished?
This post was last edited by Hua Ge on 2016-5-31 at 15:27. The SH3012-2011 Standard for the Design of Metal Piping in Petrochemical Industries is worth taking a look at. Burying or using trenches is both acceptable. Also, the original text for that 50187 isn’t like that; it uses \"yi\" instead.
If burial is necessary, a casing must be used for protection, and a trench should be dug; after it is prepared, sand should be filled in, and a cover plate should be placed over it where people walk.
For the anti-corrosion of buried pipes, asphalt paint is generally applied along with glass fiber cloth.
Oil and gas transmission pipelines are governed by long-distance pipeline standards, rather than industrial plant pipeline standards. The oil pipelines in industrial enterprises have different application conditions from those in long-distance pipelines, and the specifications for long-distance pipelines cannot be applied to them; this is why they should not be laid underground.
