I found that the flammable and explosive properties of hydrogen sulfide include: it rapidly decomposes in humid air into hydrogen, sodium oxide, and sodium sulfide, releasing heat, and it is prone to spontaneous ignition. Sodium hydrosulfide is a white to colorless cubic crystal with a hydrogen sulfide odor; the industrial form is usually a solution that is orange or yellow in color. I really don’t understand this – how can something that decomposes when exposed to moisture still be considered an industrial product or a solution?
The ability to decompose when exposed to moisture refers to solids; industrial products are mostly solutions.
It decomposes even in the presence of a small amount of water, so how can it exist in a solution? That’s what I don’t understand
