Could you explain in simple terms the concepts of instrument damping time, sampling period, response time, failure time, and time constant? I’m not quite understanding them! Please~ Also, the pressure transmitter is required to sample 100 times per second; which parameter needs to be adjusted?
Damping time: Generally, the time during which the amplitude of the reading indicated by the instrument after connecting the measured quantity to it is no more than 1% of the full scale length is referred to as the instrument’s damping time. Sampling period: In systems that periodically measure process variable signals (such as temperature, flow rate, etc.), it is the time interval between two consecutive measurements. Response time: The time it takes for the sensor to reach 90% of the final value after the test value is changed by one step. Expiration time: I have never seen this parameter; it probably refers to the service life of the instrument. Time constant: A constant that represents the time course of a transient reaction. It refers to the time required for that physical quantity to decay from its maximum value to 1/e of that maximum value. For a quantity that decays exponentially, the time required for its amplitude to decay to 1/e of its initial value is called the time constant.
The meaning was explained on the fourth floor. Specifically, you can refer to books such as \"Principles of Automatic Control\" and \"Signals and Systems\". Sampling 100 times per second should adjust the sampling period.
