Hello, dear teachers. I’m facing a difficult problem today: the pressure drop in the reactor of the etherification unit in the workshop has suddenly increased, to such an extent that it’s affecting the feeding process. I was wondering if anyone could help analyze this situation. Thank you very much
Is there a problem with the internal components of the tower?
Was the problem solved? What kind of reactor is that of yours? Fixed bed or fluidized bed?
Is it the raw material or methanol that contains water? Or are the filters and mixers installed on the process pipelines clogged?
We have encountered this situation as well; after opening the reactor and taking a look, we found that the excessive temperature rise in the reactor caused the resin catalyst to clog up, resulting in a high pressure drop. .
