What is the membrane dosing tank method?
The use of coating chemical dosing tanks for treating circulating cooling water was developed in China starting in the 1980s. Its principle is that when the circulating water passes through the dosing tank containing a solid silicate film corrosion inhibitor (referred to as a film-forming agent), this agent dissolves slowly in the water, thereby forming a thin yet durable protective layer on the metal surfaces inside the equipment and pipes. This membrane can promote cathodic polarization, thereby preventing chemical and electrochemical corrosion of metals. Since the membrane prevents direct contact between the metal surface and water, compounds such as calcium, magnesium, and iron that precipitate from the water find it difficult to deposit on the metal surface, thereby preventing scaling. After dissolving in water, the coating agent removes scale from scaled equipment and pipes, and it also prevents algae growth and sludge accumulation.
