The issue of freezing prevention, just like safety, is not something that can be handled by one person or one department alone; it requires collective effort. We have specialists in process piping technology responsible for this task, while there are specialists in charge of the equipment itself. First, we need to identify potential freezing points and develop preventive measures such as insulation, heat tracing, heating, long pipelines, and recirculation systems. A responsible person should be assigned to each freezing point, regular inspections should be carried out, and assessments should be conducted in accordance with the established freezing prevention protocols
The responsible department is the production or technical management department, such as the Production Operations Department or the Technical Department; the department that is more involved in operational management takes charge of the oversight. Freezing and condensation prevention includes pipelines, coolers, air cooling, dead corners, and the temperature in pump rooms. Before winter arrives, anti-freezing measures should be taken for each area, and a checklist should be created to be used for regular inspections. A thorough inspection is conducted whenever the temperature drops by one level. Towards the end of winter, work shifts to preventing freezing.
