The pump seal of Yantai Shengquan has a ring pressed around it; it seems to serve to prevent water from leaking out, so that the cooling water cannot be expelled along the shaft. What is this called?
Is it a water barrier ring? I’m guessing; no pictures, no truth
It should be called a water barrier, which prevents water from flowing axially into the bearings in case the pump shaft seal is damaged.
