Under what conditions does EPDM harden?

Do any of the more experienced colleagues know under what conditions EPDM rubber becomes hardened?
EPDM rubber sheets are not resistant to sulfuric acid or chlorine water; they can continue to be used if the equipment remains intact, but need to be replaced if the equipment is disassembled
This post was last edited by Liuyuxufen on 2016-12-20 at 22:58. I installed one made of NBR yesterday; it’s designed for -35 degrees Celsius liquid ammonia, but I’m worried it won’t last long. I hope my worries are unfounded; in such low temperatures, I only know about NBR and EPDM
Nitrile rubber is not resistant to ammonia; it will swell and break, so EPDM should be used for ammonia exposure
