What are the principles for selecting the assembly reference for steel structures?
During the assembly of steel structures, the surface where the workpiece comes into contact with the assembly platform or fixtures is referred to as the assembly reference surface. Under normal circumstances, the assembly reference plane is selected according to the following principles: 1. When the shape of a steel structure consists of both planar and non-planar surfaces, the planar surfaces should be used as the assembly reference plane. 2. When there are several planes on the workpiece, the plane with larger dimensions should be selected as the assembly reference plane. 3. Based on the purpose of the steel structure, select the most important plane as the assembly reference plane. 4. The selected assembly reference surface should enable easy positioning and clamping of the parts during the assembly process.
