Hello, everyone: Since the distance between workshops is not as required, it was later found that building regulations permit the installation of fire separation screens or fire shutters to reduce this distance requirement. I would like to know if anyone has installed such fire separation screens or fire shutters; whether it is feasible to do so. I appreciate any valuable suggestions you can provide. Thank you.
We have been raising the issue of installing water curtains around the facility for years, but it has never been implemented. Our goal is to prevent pollution in the surrounding area in the event of an accidental failure of the device, which means it is not used under normal circumstances. Because the chances of this being useful are so low, it’s difficult to secure the necessary investment.
Chemical engineering standards do not have such provisions. Offshore platform torches are equipped with fire separation water screens; refer to the Practical Manual for Offshore Oil and Gas Engineering Design.
